i'm ellie. i am a current mlis candidate at pratt institute graduating in may 2026. my work sits at the intersection of cultural heritage, digital humanities, and community-centered design. i'm curious about how information changes us and how we can change it right back.

before library school, i studied user experience research and design at the university of michigan. i worked in tech at startup, university, and corporate settings, but in those experiences, the part of my work i always enjoyed the most was the research and the people. i loved conducting interviews and understanding people's experiences with technology, and wanted my career to keep feeling human. librarianship has felt like the most natural extension of that instinct.

my work is guided by three values:

  1. empathy i believe we need to first understand people and their experiences before we can create systems for them.
  2. curiosity i have a genuine interest in why the world looks the way it does and am always open to how it could look different.
  3. creativity i cherish the ways we express ourselves beyond words or traditional methods. artistic expression is life affirming!
